On Going Evaluation

The evaluation during (on going) the programming period is a continuous process which is reflected in the form of a series of evaluations.

The main purpose of the evaluation is to monitor the implementation, execution of an operational programme, as well as the changes in the external environment that may affect OP’s implementation, in order to better understand and analyze the outputs and results that have been made and enhance long term impacts, and recommend, if necessary, corrective measures. This underlines the need for stronger linkages between monitoring and evaluation as well as decision-making.

Within this context, evaluations during the implementation of the Operational Programmes for 2007-2013, will be a process through which data of the implementation will be analyzed, forecasts for the future development of operational programmes will be made and conclusions and recommendations of the appropriate measures will be formulated. These evaluations will be carried out by independent external evaluators.
